Amazing game, much needed back story for roxas and sets up Kingdom Hearts 2 perfectly. Plus me and friend played this at the same time, me being a Kingdom Hearts veteran, her first game, and I can say with certainty that you don't need to play any of the others to play this one. I did probably get more out of it but she did enjoy it. The game has some major twists in the story and makes you make assumptions then shatters them but in a good way. Definitely recommend to any wanting to play Kingdom Hearts.
